AC remote not working: What to check after the batteries
A working remote display does not prove that the AC receives its commands. Check the display, battery placement and the indoor unit’s response separately to describe the problem more clearly.

If the display is blank
Check the battery type and polarity in the manual, and replace batteries as a set. Stop using a remote with leakage or damage in the battery compartment; do not pour liquid into it. Mention if the display remains blank after replacement.
If the display works but the AC does not respond
Point the remote towards the indoor receiver and remove obstructions. Observe whether the unit gives its usual light or sound response. Silence alone is not proof of a fault, since some models have sound settings.
Check lock and timer symbols
A lock or timer may be active. Follow the model’s manual rather than trying random button combinations. Universal remotes need a compatible device code and may not control every function of every model.
Should you use a button on the unit?
Some models have a button for limited operation. Use it only if the user manual identifies it and it is safely accessible. Do not remove an electrical cover. Operation from that button but not the remote is useful information, not a conclusive diagnosis of the remote or receiver.
Before buying a replacement
Prepare photos of the indoor-unit model label and both sides of the remote. A matching brand name does not guarantee compatibility. Sharing these photos during a service enquiry in Fethiye helps avoid ordering the wrong remote.
